Birthday Day Out

Yesterday was my birthday which some people may already know from my last post or my continuous tweets about it (sorry birthdays really excite me), so I thought I'd just let everyone know what I got up to!

This was my make up and hair look of the day :

I don't normally wear false lashes during the day, but I thought "What the hell, it's my birthday I can look like I'm ready for a night out if I want to!"

My outfit for the day was a dress and cardigan, both from H&M and a pair of over the thigh boots which I got from Office :

The back of the dress has a little cut out bit which I like!

My boyfriend gave me my presents in a little basket (that he painted himself) and they were all wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string!

I love The Sound of Music
We decided, very randomly to go to the Ulster Folk and Transport museum for the day. Mainly because it was outside and the weather was fairly nice so it would have been a shame to waste it!

Shameless car selfie
It was great, if not very random! It was basically a recreation of the houses and shops that were around back in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There were also "actors" in some of them, dressed up in ye olde costumes, showing how to make corn bread and the like!

My boots were being a menace! They're too big around the top of my thighs and kept sliding down! Ack! If anyone has any suggestions about how to make them stay up (other than super-gluing them to my legs) then please let me know!

Not entirely sure what this is
An old style kitchen!
I want this to write my award winning novel
Felt a bit like Hagrid wearing this giant black coat that we found in one of the rooms. Not entirely sure what it was meant to represent and I'm pretty sure we weren't actually meant to actually try them on...

Sweetie shop!
We ran into some goats who kept coming over to be fed with bits of grass, even though they were in a field with tons of grass in it :

And some donkeys :

When we were back home my boyfriend made me a birthday dinner and we had these amazing chicken parmas! We used to love these when we lived in Australia and basically it's just breaded chicken with a tomato based sauce and tons and tons of cheese!

For desert we had birthday cake and champagne, a winning combo!

All in all it was a glorious day! I have a night out/party on Saturday which I'll do a post about and then that'll be the end of the birthday madness, I promise! (Unless anyone wants to see a present haul!)
