It's presumably called My Aunt Jane's after the poem which they have printed on their menu :
(Not entirely sure why they're going round for tarts at Halloween...is that a thing? Sweets and candy, yes but why do they need to wait till Halloween specifically to go to their Aunt's for a tart? Or is this an Irish thing that I'm not getting 'cause I'm from Scotland? If anyone reading this is from Ireland and avidly waits for Halloween every year so they can go round their Aunts and get cakes let me know! I do love the poem though, it's a lovely touch.)
All of the tables had really adorable numbers on them
I ordered tea, which came in a gorgeous little tea pot, and a caramel square
Stephen had a coffee which came with the beautifully done leaf pattern that I could never quite manage to do when I worked in a cafe (I am sincerely sorry to anyone that ordered one of my coffees, I'm pretty sure they were actually terrible)
It was just really nice to go somewhere that was a bit quirky and totally different to Starbucks and I gleefully got a loyalty card stamped because I will definitely be going back! Not least because it looks like they also do afternoon tea!
Has anyone else got anywhere a bit different they like to go? Let me know!
